Real name Mor Mbengue, El hadji Leeboon is a Senegalese storyteller. Inspired by the rich heritage of Wolof oral transmission, he once tried slam. His works are, for the most part, anchored in tradition. But the artist wants to create his own stories and weaves bridges between modernity and tradition. A committed artist, he regularly evokes social themes such as illegal emigration. Guitar, balafon, djembe and calabash accompany him on stage.
